Our Curriculum

Malvin’s Close Primary Academy offers a curriculum that is balanced and broadly based. Our curriculum promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and prepares pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. Our school curriculum comprises all learning and other experiences that we plan for our pupils. The New National Curriculum (2014) forms one part of the school curriculum. We are legally required to follow the statutory National Curriculum which sets out, in Programmes of study on the basis of key stages, subject content for those subjects taught to all pupils.

At Malvin's it is all about Learning. Together we have identified some key learner qualities that enable us to become life-long learners. The children earn Housepoints when demonstrating these qualities. Our Malvin's Most Magnificent assemblies and our Best Work assemblies celebrate and share children's successes at using and applying these qualities in all areas of their learning. Have a look at the progression below to see how the qualities progress.
February 2016:- Thank you to all parents and children who sent in their contributions to 'What makes an effective learner?' Responses from parents, children and staff were compiled and our finalised learner qualities are in the document above. These learner qualities are encouraged and reinforced in all learning we do at Malvin's.
