Thank you for looking at our website and showing an interest in our school. At Malvin’s Close Primary Academy we encourage children to have high aspirations and to strive for the best. We want them to be responsible, capable young people ready to meet the challenges of their next school after they have completed their journey at Malvin’s Close.
Our staff are dedicated to developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes and understanding which will help children enjoy learning, be successful and feel happy. Our aim is to foster a love of learning whilst encouraging children to set challenging goals for themselves and hold high aspirations for their future.
Our school has a strong community spirit where consideration and respect for others is encouraged. Our pupils celebrate their differences and are keen to uphold kind, well- mannered behaviour as positive members of our school community. It was no surprise to me that Ofsted judged the behaviour of our pupils as ‘outstanding’ in March 2012.
I am very proud of our pupils and their achievements. At this school everyone works hard, both academically, and at our wide range of clubs and activities which develop specialised talents and gifts. Our SATs results in Year 6 are above the National average and our school has achieved many awards for high quality provision and achievement in the Arts, ICT, Science, PSHE and PE and sport.
In the last five years our school has experienced a number of significant changes. We have changed from a First school to a Primary school and more recently we have converted to Academy status within The Blyth Quay’s Trust. We also moved into a brand new ‘state of the art’ building in 2009 offering our children amazing indoor and outdoor facilities to enhance the curriculum.
