| Theseus and the Minotaur Each year King Minos, the powerful king of Crete, made Greece send seven boys and seven girls to Crete to be fed to the Minotaur who lived in the labyrinth. Theseus, the son of the King of Greece volunteered to be one of the victims so he could kill the Minotaur. With the help of Areadne, King Minos's daughter he killed the Minotaur and found the way out of the labyrinth. |

Pegasus, the winged horse was created from the blood of Medusa when her head was cut off. Pegasus was ridden Bellerophon in the attack of the Chimaera After the Chimaera was destroyed Pegasus went to Olympus and Zeus used him to carry his thunderbolts. |
| Daedalus and his son Icarus were imprisoned in the labyrinth on Crete by King Minos. The labyrinth was so complex that no one could ever find the way out so Daedalus made wax wings so that they could fly out. After escaping, Icarus ignored his father warnings and flew to close to sun, his wings melted and he fell into the sea. |

The Chimaera has a head like a lion, a body like a goat and a tail like a snake. It can also breath fire from its mouth. Prince Bellerophon killed Chimaera whilst riding on Pegasus. He fired an arrow into its side and another into its mouth. |
| Phaeton persuaded his father, Helios, to let him drive the chariot of the sun, Phaeton lost control of the horses and drove the sun too close to the earth. To save the earth from the fire Zeus, king of the gods, killed Phaeton with a lightning bolt. |

The Hydra was a huge many headed water snake, one of its heads was immortal. If one of its head was cut off two would grow back in its place. The Hydra was killed by Hercules who used a torch to burn each of its necks to stop the heads growing. When he cut off its last immortal head he buried it under a rock. |
